I’ve tried for the last 45 minutes to get it to work.  It doesn’t work on this computer, it doesn’t work on my laptop.  Booting into Linux and trying to recover any of the stuff on it, bit by bit, also doesn’t work, just errors out without copying anything.

So I’ve lost, among less-important things, two projects I’ve been spending a lot of time on, one of which was going to be for somebody else.  Resigned myself to working from my last backup of both… then checked them to discover they were corrupted even then, just not badly enough for the computer to flag the drive as fucked.

I’m heartsick.
